The Victorian Town By the Sea

We arrived at our final university on Saturday afternoon. In all it took about 3 hours to travel down from Bangor to Aberystwyth, but we had a great view of the countryside and the mountains the whole way down which made it go by quickly. I really can’t believe we’ve been in the country for a month already. It’s even harder to believe that our journey is coming to an end. It seems like just the other day we were arriving in Cardiff, overwhelmed by the amount of information and the new atmosphere. Now I feel so familiar with Wales that it seems inconceivable to leave.

The welcome dinner the Yr Hen Llew Du (The Old Black Lion) was phenomenal and learning to do stand up paddleboarding on Sunday was really fun. I’m really looking forward to everything Aberystwyth has in store for us. More so than Cardiff, Aberystwyth has a seaside, bohemian feel (what could be better than that?).

On a side note: Sunday night I was able to score a ticket to see “Monty Python Live (Mostly)” at the on-campus cinema and it was great. The full stage production was being streamed live from London’s O2 Arena and it was a mixture of hilarity and sadness seeing the surviving members of Monty Python perform for what will probably be the last time.
